Four arrested over Burgess Hill vandalism


Police are appealing for information after at least six vehicles were vandalised in Station Road, Burgess Hill, between midnight and 12.30am on Wednesday, April 8.

Police were originally called to Burgess Hill railway station after reports that some tools had been stolen from contractors working on the platform. Once they were arrived four people were arrested and police found a number of vehicles had been damaged.

PC Jim Lee said: “Sussex Police is working in partnership with officers from the British Transport Police to try to find out exactly what happened, please get in contact if you have information which could help with our investigation.”

A 21-year-old man from Haywards Heath, has been arrested on suspicion of criminal damage and being drunk and disorderly in a public place.

An 18-year-old man from Ardingly, a 17-year-old boy from Burgess Hill and a 16-year-old boy from Haywards Heath, have been arrested on suspicion of criminal damage, theft and being drunk and disorderly in a public place.

All four have been questioned and released on bail until Sunday, May 17.
