Jay Patel, 54, who runs the station and event hopes 2014 will prove even more successful than last year.

“When we started our customers donated £345. Last year the machine washed over 120 cars and we raised more than £1500 for Cancer Research.

“Some people pay a little, others pay a lot, but together we have raised a large sum of money to make someone else’s life better – that’s my aim. Let’s beat cancer together.”

Scaynes Hill service station is open from 6am to 11pm offering free car washes all day.
