Star of the TV screen and Hurstpierpoint salon owner Stephen Webb is taking on a big challenge for charity – going dry for a whole month.

Gogglebox star Stephen, 43, appears on the Bafta award winning Channel 4 reality show which takes viewers into people’s living rooms to view their reactions to TV shows.

He is now joining in the Dryathlon, going without alcohol for a month to raise money for Cancer Research UK. He has so far raised £550.

Stephen said: “I’ve got quite good will power so I should be alright.

“My target was £150 so it’s amazing to have so many people donating. A lot of people don’t like to have fundraising forced upon them but people have been very generous.”

Stephen told the Middy he should be able to complete the challenge.

“Thank you to everyone who has donated, from the biggest donation which was £100 to the smallest which was £3. If everyone who follows me on Twitter donated I would have £100,000!”

Stephen has also opened a salon called Lustig&Webb in Hurstpierpoint High Street and is now a self confessed ‘country boy’ after living in Brighton.

“We have had a really good response to the salon so we just hope it keeps going.”
