Golfers drive almost £20k into Lynn Children's Charity

fA golf day has raised almost £20,000 for children with Cerebral Palsy.

The AERO Golf Day took place at the East Sussex National Resort Hotel, Golf and Spa on Friday September 7. The event was organised by Linzi Blockley, a trustee of the charity, and through the generosity of the sponsors and participants raised £19,750 for Dame Vera Lynn Children’s Charity.

Pilar Cloud, executive manager of the charity said: “On behalf of all our families, current and future, I would like to thank everyone for their incredible generosity in choosing to participate in the first AERO Golf Day.

“Raising such a fantastic amount which will have a profoundly positive impact for the charity.

“A huge thank you to Linzi Blockley for organising such a wonderful day and all her hard work in support of our Charity.”

Dame Vera Lynn Children’s Charity supports under fives with cerebral palsy and other motor learning impairments.

Abbie Hunnisett, Paralympian and ambassador of the charity, joined in the evening festivities along with her father Mark Hunnisett, helping to present the trophies to the winning golfers. Mr Hunnisettt also spoke at the three course dinner about the experience of attending the charity’s early intervention service when his daughter was very young and the lifelong impact that has had on their family.
