Great British Bake Off’s Chetna cooks up a storm in Burgess Hill

A TV chef known for her appearance on BBC One’s Great British Bake Off has been giving cooking lessons in Burgess Hill.

Chetna Makan was eliminated from the competition in the semi final, but was well known throughout the series for her flavoursome bakes.

Chetna was invited to new development Corbett Court in Burgess Hill by retirement house builder McCarthy and Stone, to give employees and residents a baking lesson of a lifetime.

Julie Ward, regional sales and marketing director for McCarthy and Stone, said: “We were delighted to have been able to invite our homeowners along to our demonstration with celebrity baker, Chetna Makan, who was made famous through her appearance on the popular TV show The Great British Bake Off.

“The day was a great success, providing people with a unique opportunity to watch Chetna in action.”

Julie continued: “Both the homeowners and sales team alike took away plenty of exciting recipes and top baking tips from the session and we look forward to trying out some delicious treats soon.”
