I mentioned last week the Community Bus trip to Brooklands Motor & Aircraft Museum which took place earlier this week; if you feel you have missed out on a day out this month because this was of no interest, fear not, there is another outing planned for September. On Tuesday, 22 September the Bus will be going to Cowdray Park for morning coffee and a visit to their farm shop followed by lunch in Midhurst. If this is of interest - the fare is £10 - get in touch with Christina on 400212 or see her in the Hardware Shop and book your seat!

Next Monday the Women’s Institute will be meeting in the Parish Hall from 2.30 pm. The topic this month is the Centenary Exhibition with the competitions being ‘A Jar of Plum Jam’ and/or ‘A Photograph of Autumn Fruit’. However, if you are keen to go to a WI meeting but can’t make an afternoon meeting, there is another branch in the village, the WI@Handcross, and their next meeting will be on Tuesday, 15 September from 7.30 pm also in the Parish Hall. Their speaker will be a fireman from Crawley Fire Station. Everyone is welcome to go along to either meeting whether or not you are a member; however, I am aware that there is a small charge for visitors at the evening meeting of £3 but I’m sure you will get a slice or two of homemade cake and a cup of tea or coffee for that!

The Parish Hall is the venue for another local club meeting on Wednesday, this time the Rosemary Club will be using the Hall from 2.30 pm. This Club will be entertained with the tales of Neil Hunt’s time as a Toastmaster. Again, this is open to members and non-members and I recall there might be a small charge to cover the cost of the afternoon tea of homemade cakes and sandwiches for non-members.

You may feel that these meetings are open to those of a certain age but I would refute this. I am sure you will be made very welcome at any of them regardless of your age and where the Rosemary Club are concerned, gentlemen are also welcome to go along! So if you have time on your hands, either on an evening or an afternoon why not go along and see what they have to offer! If you are looking for an exercise class, there is a Zumba class in the Parish Hall on a Thursday evening from 8 pm each week. I think it safe to say we are lucky in that we do have a variety of clubs and the like to keep us amused in the village.
