The Hardware Store has recently released their ‘programme of events’ for the next couple of months: the Community Choir meets every Friday evening from 6.30pm until 7.30pm. Everyone is welcome to go along and join in. On the 2nd Thursday of the month from 2pm, there is Craft with Linda which is an opportunity to try your hand at different crafts be it soft toys or cards in a small friendly environment. On the last Thursdays of the month there is ‘Knit & Natter’ also from 2pm; you do both, just knit or just natter, whatever you do, you can be assured of a friendly welcome. And on the third Fridays of the month, there is an Acoustic Folk Night from 8 pm. All events take place in the Upper Room above the Hardware Store, access is from round the back of the building and a suggested donation of £2 per event goes towards their costs, with Folk Nights being £4. If you would like to put your name down for any of the events or would like further information, give Christina a call on 400212 or call in and see her in the Store.
On Monday, the Women’s Institute meets in the Parish Hall from 2.30 pm. This month’s speaker is Hilary Stirling and the title of her talk is ‘The Craft Potter – Influences & Inspirations’ and the competitions are 3 fruit scones and/or a design for a plate. As always, these meetings are open to everyone and I’m sure you will be made to feel very welcome if you do go along.
