DON’T FORGET the parish council meeting this evening, Thursday, from 7.30pm at the Pavilion which will be followed by the Planning Committee meeting. As always, the agendas for both meetings can be found on the Parish Notice Board outside the Spar Shop and there will be an opportunity to ask questions or raise queries about any item on the agenda early in the meeting.

LAST WEEK’S meeting of the Neighbourhood Planning Committee was well attended again which was good to see. One thing that was discussed at some length was where the village/parish stood in regard to the Hyde/Hallam proposals and the Neighbourhood Plan. It would seem that the committee are locked in a circle where until the parish council receives definitive proposals from Hyde/Hallam, they are unable to put them to the parish and until then, this committee is unable to proceed with putting the Plan together in such a way that it can be put forward to the parish for discussion and ultimately a vote which, in turn, will go some way to stopping developers putting in planning applications for developments that are not necessarily wanted nor needed in the parish. All very frustrating for everyone but hopefully things will starting moving again soon and who knows, there may be some more news at tonight’s parish council meeting; fingers crossed!

CRAFT NIGHT: The Hardware Shop’s Christmas Craft Night last Thursday appeared to be a success, certainly when I was there quite a few people were wandering around, avoiding children rushing around trying to complete the quiz in extra quick time. Thanks must go to Les, Christina and the many people who come together to make nights like these, such a success, well done.
