There will be a Craft Evening: at Dudley House this evening, Thursday, from 7.30pm. Everyone is welcome to go along with any project they are currently working on or, if you don’t have anything on the go at the moment, why not go along anyway and get some inspiration from others. Going by past comments, I’m sure there will be tea and coffee on offer along with some other ‘treats’ to tempt you! There is a small cost involved (£2) but hopefully this will not prevent you from going along with friends to make new friends!
On Tuesday 21 June: the Community Bus will be going to Roundstone Garden Centre in Ferring; at the time of writing I believe there are still spaces on the Bus so why not go along if you fancy a day out without having to worry about driving or parking! The fare is £8 and the Bus will leave Nymans at 10 am and will be leaving the Garden Centre at about 3.30 pm. If you would like more information on this or the Craft Evening mentioned above, please get in touch with Christina on 400212 or call in to the Hardware Shop.
On the same day: 21 June, the WI@Handcross will be meeting in the Parish Hall between 7.30 and 9.30 pm and as with all WI meetings, everyone is welcome to go along whether or not they are a member. If you do feel up to joining the regular members, the ‘topic’ of this month’s meeting is ‘Bath Bombs’; I don’t about you but I am not really sure what these are nor what goes in to making them, so if you would like to know more, why not go along.
Fun day: I have recently learnt that this year’s Fun Day, scheduled to be held on Saturday, 2 July on the Recreation Ground, has been cancelled. It was a not a decision that was taken lightly but the small committee felt that the lack of support from the various village clubs/organisations, along with work and personal commitments, they would not be able to put something together that would do justice to previous years. They would however like to thank those who have helped in the past to put everything together, along with the local businesses and others who have supported in various ways. However, just because it has been cancelled this year, it doesn’t mean that there won’t be more in the future if the support is forthcoming. The underlying aim of the Fun Day was to raise funds for local clubs/societies or even individuals if their project would be of benefit to the village as a whole. I understand that there may still be some money still available so if you are looking for some financial help, get in touch with Neil Mitchell, the Chairman of Handcross Association by email at firstname.lastname@example.org, or get in touch with him if you would like to get involved with Handcross Association in any way.
