Saturday 11th July: is Hall Day in aid of the Keymer Church Hall Regeneration Fund at Keymer Church Hall, Church Mead from 10.00am to 2.00pm with free admission. Funds are needed to pay for various projects to improve the exterior appearance of the building and also cover the cost of resurfacing the floor of the main hall. There will be stalls selling Refreshments and Light Lunches, Cakes & Savouries, Jams & Preserves, Gifts and Bookstall, Garden bits & pieces, activities for Children including Face Painting and Refreshments and Light Lunches. There is also a special challenge for all the fitness people - How Far can you row in 1 minute on a Rowing Machine? Come and see how good you are!!

Joan and Geoff Brooker: from Lancing are among those who welcome an enlarged charity bookstall at a Hassocks garden centre. The pair, both prolific readers, visit regularly to support the recently enlarged book shop with a difference at South Downs Nurseries.
“With the upsurge of visitors to our newly opened coffee shop, in an authentically reconstructed Sussex barn, we’ve seen a tremendous increase in demand for the second-hand charity books which raise much needed money for local community projects”, explains Mark Hillyard who manages the Brighton Road store.
