Haywards Heath charity launches appeal to support Nepal earthquake victims

An international development charity has launched an emergency appeal to support people affected by the earthquake in Nepal.

IMPACT Foundation, based in Haywards Heath, is partnered with IMPACT Nepal, based in Kathmandu.

The charity is hoping to buy tents, ropes, medicines and surgical supplies, blankets, food, stoves, water purification tablets and kitchen utensils.

A spokesperson said: “Our colleagues are doing everything they can to aid the relief effort for those in desperate need.

“They will of course be making our health facilities in Kathmandu and elsewhere in Nepal, available to people affected by the disaster - including our mobile tented operating theatre.”

The charity promises all funds will go directly to those affected by the earthquake.
