Haywards Heath Town Day next Saturday (September 8), is expected to be the ‘biggest ever’, the town council has said.
The fun will kick off at 11.30am, with a welcome address by town mayor councillor James Knight, followed by a parade by the 172 Haywards Heath Squadron, Royal Air Force Cadets.
The event promises to offer fun for all the family with fairground and miniature railway rides, plus Circus Seen workshops.

“The delightful Victory V’s harmony duo will be on stage performing military style harmonies, to continue the nostalgic feel of the event.
“At noon, Mewes Veterinary Practice will begin registration for the dog show competitions including categories such as the ‘best RAF Fancy Dress’ and the ‘Top Ranked Officer’.
“There will be games and an obstacle course in the arena organised by Dolphin Leisure Centre. Haywards Heath Rugby Football Club will be organising a tag rugby display for the under 7s and 8s, plus a fun assault course for anyone to join in.
“Jonathan Cann will perform three Punch and Judy shows at 12.30pm, 1.30pm and 2.30pm in the Punch and Judy Booth.
“Visitors can sample a range of cuisine from several different vendors, including pizza, paella, traditional fish and chips, Indian food and fish kebabs.
“There will be a pop-up café organised by Haywards Heath Twinning Association and for the first time ever, a licensed bar.
“Local performers, Dance with Emily and Popsteps, will be performing on the day and encouraging visitors to join in the fun.
“The skate park will come alive with music and a DJ for local skate enthusiasts to enjoy and show their talent.
“With over 60 stalls and pitches, entertainment and activities throughout the day, plus the Wings Parachute display, scheduled for 2pm, there is something for everyone to enjoy.”
Town mayor Mr Knight is encouraging people to come along. He said: “Town Day is a wonderful free community event for everyone.”
