A Sussex Police spokesman said the man and woman encountered him as they were walking through Mount Noddy cemetery at about 7.30pm on Tuesday (May 24).

He said: “Following a brief discussion during which the suspect asked for money, he became aggressive and attempted to steal the man’s bracelet off his wrist.

“The couple, in their 20s, walked away shaken but unhurt.”
