House fire in Burgess Hill

Firefighters were called to a house fire in Condor Way, Burgess Hill, on Monday (October 26).

West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service (WSFRS)said the blaze started in a first floor bedroom of a semi-detached house at around 4.30pm.

WSFRS said it was caused by worn wiring for a standing lamp.

Three fire engines attended. Seventy per cent of the house was damaged by smoke.

No-one was hurt.
