COMMUNITY SHOP: after some time in consultation and planning the Coop is to take over the premises, on a temporary basis only while the building work takes place over many months at their shop in the High Street. The pop up shop on the green has only been a practical option this autumn but not suitable for the winter. The community shop closed after business on Tuesday 6 December, just a few days short of the original date of Saturday 10 December as there is usually a good break over Christmas. This popular village amenity will return next year once the Coop vacates.

HURST MUSEUM: now has a new display entitled Collectamania, featuring varied collections of objects, from badges to pots, post cards to key rings. Perhaps your interest is on show, pop in and find out. In the lobby of the Village Centre.

CHRISTMAS UNWRAPPED: Saturday 10 December 3.00 pm to 5.00 pm at the Methodist Church, Cuckfield Road, Hurstpierpoint. This is a great Christmas Craft afternoon for children and young people followed by an ad-hoc Nativity. Children can come dressed as a character from the Nativity Story if they would like to. As places are limited, it is essential that parents pre-book places for their children. Children can take home all the crafts they make and the suggested donation for the afternoon is just £2.00. Delicious coffee served throughout the morning. Everyone welcome. Free entry.
