ARE YOU LOOKING FOR A CAT?: Paws & Claws our local cat homing charity, situated at Sayers Common, is having a Homing Weekend on Saturday 5 November from 2pm to 4pm both days. The recent coffee morning raised £400 and thanks go to all who came and made it a success.

CAFE CHURCH: at Hurstpierpoint Methodist Church, Cuckfield Road on Sunday 6 November from 10.30 am to 11.30 am. Come and enjoy Coffee and Croissants followed by lively worship with modern songs and a Bible message relevant for today. Suitable for all ages.

G&T@3: A traditional half-hour service at Hurstpierpoint Methodist Church also on Sunday 6 November from 3.00 pm to 3.30 pm, tea provided after the service with time to chat.

HURSTPIERPOINT HORTICULTURAL SOCIETY: has a meeting on Tuesday 8 November in the Club Suite of the Village Centre with an illustrated talk on vegetable growing. The guest speaker is John Negus, a well known horticulturalist who trained at Wisley and Merrist Wood, and is a regular broadcaster on Radio Surrey and Sussex. Everyone is welcome to go along and learn about this topic, to prepare and get set up for next year. At 7.45pm.

VACANCY: The Parish Council now has a vacancy for a new Councillor in the Hurstpierpoint ward. This is a co-opted post but the Councillor will have the same responsibilities and powers as elected members and will be in post until May 2019. This is a voluntary unpaid post and the person would be expected to attend 2 or 3 evening meetings each month. To apply, fill in an application form and return it to the Parish Council office by noon on Monday 14 November 2016. MELTING POT CAFÉ: held at the Ex-Servicemen’s Club, Court Bushes, in refurbished and welcoming surroundings is open on Wednesday mornings from 9.15 to 11.30am. Offering not only refreshments but delicious cakes, the café caters for everyone from babies to older members of the coummunity . Professional visitors are on hand to give help with CVs, job searching, wellbeing and play for the little ones. If you would like to go but transport is a problem then a lift may be possible from a DBS checked person, contact 01273 831816.

CONCERT: entitled Songs of Love, Lust and Longing is being organised in aid of the charity reMEmber which supports those suffering from chronic fatigue, featuring The Lou Beckerman quintet. At Danny House on Saturday 12 November at 7.30pm, with tickets available from Marcus Grimes in the High Street.
