Hurstpierpoint stolen car could be in Brighton

POLICE are keen to hear from members of the public who may have seen a silver/grey Skoda Fabia, VRM GK59RXJ, being driven around or parked up somewhere in Brighton and Hove in the last three weeks.

The car was stolen following a burglary at a property in Brighton Road, Hurstpierpoint, sometime between 9pm on Thursday 16 August and 6am on Friday August 17.

The house was broken into via an unlocked window and other items taken included a Samsung Galaxy Ace and bank cards - which are still outstanding.

Detective Constable Emma Vickers from Brighton and Hove Priority Crime Unit said: “The Skoda has not been seen on the road for a few weeks.

“It hasn’t incurred any parking fines or been recently picked up a numberplate recognition camera - therefore, it could just be parked up somewhere in the city.

“We believe the theft of the Skoda from the house in Hurstpierpoint may be linked to the burglary and theft of a BMW from a house in Bigwood Avenue, Hove, earlier in the evening. The BMW was found crashed in a ditch near to the house where the Skoda was taken from. Credit cards and a wallet were also stolen and found dumped in Preston Park.
