HASSOCKS will have a slower service at certain times of the week now West Sussex County Council has decided to close Keymer fire station.
Despite strong opposition, Peter Evans, Cabinet Member for Public Protection, has given the go-ahead to plans in the Fire and Rescue Service’s ‘Modernisation Programme’ to increase manpower at Burgess Hill’s retained station and close the station at Keymer.
Hassocks will be covered from Burgess Hill, using whole-time firefighters from Horley to provide additional cover at peak times in the day.
What do you think?
Will this ‘modernisation’ help provide a better service across the county or will it create problems?
