Borde Hill 50th Anniversary Celebration on Sunday 30th August. The day will feature popular music band “The bb Collective” who will perform classic 60’s music to complement the 60’s dress theme. There will be food and drink, a guided garden walk and much more. Bring a picnic or enjoy the delicious food and drink provided by R Bar Mobile and Eat Street Kitchen. Wine and cheese tasting by Plumpton College and 60’s themed cakes and sandwiches in our quaint tearoom. In the morning the current owner of Borde Hill Andrewjohn Stephenson Clarke will lead a series of talks on the Garden’s history and its creation by his great grandfather. Visitors can also enjoy an exhibition of historical documents dating from the 1900’s.Usual entry charges apply.

Lindfield Bonfire Badge Night. Tuesday 1st September. 6.30pm-10.00pm. The Stand Up Inn. Traditionally Badge Night celebrates the beginning of Bonfire Season and is an informal social occasion. Please come along and join us, Especially if you’d like to join LBS and also if you need help finding stripy jumpers! We would be pleased to talk to anyone able to offer help with anything in the run up to and on the day of the 5th November. Our merchandise includes 2015 LBS badges for sale at £1 each, as well as 2016 Lindfield Village Calendars etc. The Society aims to keep Nov. 5th a free to attend event, but as it becomes more expensive each year we really do appreciate the help and financial support provided by our members and supporters.

Advance notice. The next lunch-time concert in the URC will take place on Wed. Sept. 9th . Emma Nibloe (Flute) will play for you. She currently works at All Saints as a Ministry trainee.

Lindfield Arts Festival. On Sunday 19th Sept from 15-16.00 upstairs in the Bent Arms Tim Stanton will give a talk entitled “Lindfield Soldiers at the first bit push-Battle of Loos, Sept.1915.” On Sat. and Sun. the 19th and 20th Sept. Full Spectrum will present Kirlian Hand Aura. Have your hands photographed and analysed. Drop in sessions for ages 10 and over. Both days-10-16.30.On Sat. from 16-17.00 in the Tiger Hall Tiger Rooms Sue Russel will present “How to write a Thriller”, a talk providing potential authors with a few pointers in the right direction and to help them avoid the most common pitfalls. Again on Sat. 19th Sept. from 10.00-16.30 in the Tiger Lounge Tiger Rooms Kalli Kids will have art and craft activities for younger children.
