Lindfield Horticultural Society: There will be a coffee morning and plants sale on Saturday 14th May from 10am in the King Edward Hall. All welcome . Entry £1. There will be lots of plants at very reasonable prices-your next opportunity will be at Village Day unless you come to the Country Markets on Thursdays.

Lindfield Country Market: on Thursday 19th May from 10-11.15am in the King Edward Hall. Did you know that many of the market stall holders can take orders? If you have a special event coming up or a birthday person with unusual interests that need a specific card, this can be catered for. How about a favourite cake or knitted / sewn items as a personal or unique gift? All the usual market produce is available, many plants now coming in and the ladies are happy to give advice.

House and Garden rubbish collection: Sunday 15th May from 10-12noon in the Tollgate car park. Please do not leave rubbish in the absence of the freighters.

Last film of the season: The film is Bridge of Spies and is showing at 7.45pm on Thursday 19th May in the King Edward Hall. Tickets are £6 from Tufnells. This is a cold war thriller in which a is recruited to defend a Soviet spy and help the CIA to rescue a missing pilot.

Lindfield and District Folk Dance Club: Thursday 19th May 20-22.00. Ashenground Community Centre, Vale Rd, Haywards Heath. Folk dancing for fun, no partner needed.£2 including tea/coffee and biscuit at half time. First evening free. Contact Mike 01444 482741.

Lindfield Flower Club: Tuesday 24th May at 2.30pm in the King Edward Hall. Christina Payne will demonstrate and her talk is called “Whiskets.”

Heber Opera: presents “ The Pearl Fishers” by Georges Bizet on Saturday 21st May at 7.30pm in the King Edward Hall. This will be sung in English and performed in the round. Performers are close enough to touch and a Heber Opera production will dispel opera’s difficult and elitist myth. This is a self-funding group which believes that opera should be open to all. Tickets cost £14 reserved and £12 unreserved.Tel:01435 866737 or book online at: Do go along if you are not used to going to opera in the round. It is really enjoyable and you have a great rapport with the singers who, in their turn, enjoy having their audience so close.
