Man injured after police Landrover is involved in collision

A 29-year-old man and two police officers were injured after their vehicles collided in Slough Green.

The member of the public was driving a Vauxhall Vectra that was in collision with a Sussex Police Landrover Discovery.

The police vehicle was not responding to an incident and the Independent Police Complaints Commission has been informed.

The accident happened at the junction of Staplefield Road and Sloughgreen Lane, between Cuckfield and Staplefield, shortly before 7am on Sunday (7 July).

All three people had to be freed from their vehicles by the emergency rescue services.

The 29-year-old, from Heathfield, suffered a broken clavicle. The 30-year-old officer who was driving the Landrover suffered whiplash and shock. His 33-year-old passenger suffered whiplash.

Anyone who saw the crash or who saw the vehicles being driven beforehand is asked to call 101 quoting serial 509 of 7 July.
