Men charged with Burgess Hill assault to attend four-day trial

Two men charged with the assault of a man who was left in life threatening condition after a fight in Burgess Hill, will go on a four day trial.

Alfie Robinson, 22, of Chanctonbury Road, Burgess Hill, and Benjamin Watkinson, 22, of Stanford Road, Brighton, appeared at Hove Trial Centre on Friday (July 31), charged with grievous bodily harm (GBH) with intent and assault occasioning actual bodily harm (ABH).

Robinson pleaded not guilty to both charges and Watkinson pleaded not guilty to GBH and guilty to ABH.

Both have been remanded in custody to appear on trial in the week commencing November 16. The trial is expected to take four days.

A 20-year-old man from Burgess Hill was left in a critical condition after a fight in Mill Road, Burgess Hill ,in the early hours of Sunday June 28. A 24-year-old man suffered minor injuries.
