Mid Sussex students inspired for entrepreneurial success

Warden Park students created Bubblz as part of this year’s Young Enterprise competition.

After a successful day selling their product at a fair on Saturday at The Orchards Shopping centre on South Road, Haywards Heath, they plan to keep running the business when the competition finishes.

The team is made up of students Abi Pibworth, Katie Grant, Finlay Collins, Matt Reid, Jess Ma, Ana Elliot and Kimberly M.

Abi said: “I do see a future career going into business, and we want to carry on Bubblz.

“It’s a completely new experience. It’s very challenging, and hard to work in a team with different opinions, collaborating and working together.”

The team performed well, despite sales being limited by the cold weather.

Abi continued: “It was a quite hard day because not many people wanted to stay out in the cold.”

This is the first entrepreneurial work the Warden Park student has undertaken.

“We each come up with our own business, and have a fair to sell the products,” she said.

“It was really fun. We even have to sort out the finances.

“We sell fancy, complex soaps, bath bombs. We think they’re really good for different occasions, and they’re adult products.”

Pupils at the fair took on typical management roles such as managing director, finance director and marketing director. Companies, from Warden Park, Burgess Hill School for Girls, Hurstpierpoint College, St. Paul’s Catholic College, Worth School and Imberhorne School attended the fair.Products included cutting edge gadgets, designer scarves, radical clothing and handmade gifts.
