Elisa Coppard, 29 of St Pauls on the Green, was one of ten national finalists of the beauty contest for married women who spent the day modelling swim wear, fashion wear and evening wear.

“It was really scary and exciting” said Elisa, “but quite intimidating because all the women were really beautiful.”

At the end of a gruelling 16-hour day in Beaconsfield she was announced the runner-up.

First prize was two weeks in Bulgaria competing against an international set of married women for the Mrs World title, as well as a year’s contract with the competition organisers.

Instead, Elisa won a cash prize, and said after the initial disappointment she was ‘really happy’ to have come a very respectable second because she did not want such a long term commitment, having only entered the competition on a whim.
