The announcement was made by the county council today.

Council chairman Pat Arculus said: “We can confirm that, subject to the normal checks, Nathan Elvery has been offered the role of chief executive at West Sussex County Council.

“Mr Elvery is currently the chief executive officer at the London Borough of Croydon.

“It is anticipated his appointment will be confirmed at the Full Council meeting on April 15.”
