A Wivelsfield pub with a long history finally has new owners.
The Royal Oak in Wivelsfield has been spotted with a sold sign outside.
A spokesman for Fleurets, agents for the sale said: “I can confirm the pub has been sold. We have sold the free hold.”
The pub was bought a few years ago but closed suddenly. The site is renowned for being the spot where the body of a man executed for a savage triple murder at the pub was left hanging nearly 300 years ago.
