New speed limits and parking restrictions proposed in Mid Sussex

West Sussex County Council is proposing new traffic restrictions in Balcombe and Haywards Heath.

In Balcombe, a 40mph speed limit could be introduced on London Road from 39 metres north of its junction with Handcross Road for a distance of around 640 metres.

A limit of 50 mph would apply until 260 metres north of the junction with Paddockhurst Road.

On the High Street, it is proposed a 50 mph limit would run for 300 metres to the west of the junction with London Road and on Paddockhurst Road for 130 metres north of its junction with London Road.

Meanwhile, a number of waiting restrictions are being considered in Haywards Heath.

Double yellow lines are proposed on Delney Avenue at its junctions with Victoria Road, Oakdale Road and Franklynn Road while the whole of the eastern side of the road would have single yellow lines.

Double yellow lines would be introduced at the junction of New England Road and Little Brentswood, for a short distance to the east of the Oathill Avenue roundabout and at the western junction with Penn Crescent.

The north side of Washington Road opposite its junction with Western Road would have double yellow lines.
