Newick Country Market will be open on Friday morning from 10 to 11am in the Village Hall, there is a great selection of locally grown vegetables available, plus home baked cakes, savoury items, fresh eggs, cheeses and charcuterie. Just make sure you arrive early as certain items sell out very quickly. You can also enjoy a cuppa.
The Bowls Club will be playing on Saturday Burgess Hill away, and on Sunday it’s the finals day, it this is not completed then it will finish on Bank Holiday Monday at2pm
The Cricket Club 1st x1 will be playing at home against Heathfield Park 1st, whilst the 2nd X1 will travel to Heathfield,, the 3rdX1 are way to Heathefield, and the4th X1 are plating on the Temple Grove Ground against Pett 2nd team , all of these games will commence at 1pm.
The Newick Horticultural Society will be holding their Annual Show, plus a Dog Show on the Village Green on Saturday 5th September at 2pm, this is a great village day for everyone to enjoy the lovely vegetables ,flowers and many children’s entries. This year Tony Turk has written a booklet on the HISTORY of Newick Horticultiral Society with the co-operation of the society, and intends to sell copies at the show, this booklet id lavishly illustrated, including previously unpublished drawings ,newspaper articles, plus old and new photograph’s. There are plenty of bits of general information for anybody interested in the history of NEWICK. This is a great opportunity to show of your dogs, the classes they can be entry are THE WAGGIEST TAIL, or the MOST HANDSOME DOG,please telephone Kat for further information 724445.
