Just to remind you that the Newick Afternoon Club will be meeting this Thursday 8th, in the Community Centre, the speakers is Simon Stevens, archaeologist, historian and a great speaker the title of his talk will be “1915- FROM THE GREAT WAR TO GLOBAL WAR”, everyone most welcome to attended this meeting.

Newick Country will be open as usual this Friday morning from 10 to 11am in the VILLAGE HALL, ,there is a good selection of fresh vegetables, eggs, cheese, and homemade cakes, and savoury items, plus flowers, greetings cards knitted items. Make sure you arrive on time , many items sell very quickly, you can also enjoy a cuppa and a natter.

There will be 3 Rugby Games this Saturday Samoa V Scotland, 14.40pm.Australia V Wales, at 17.00 pm plus an evening match England V Uruguay at 20.00. make sure you check with the Newick Rugby Club which games they will be showing at Sports Pavilion on the big screen,

Services this Sunday at St. Mary’s Church are Holy Communion at 8am (BCP) followed by Morning Prayer (CW) at 10.30am if you require a lift to church, please telephone in advance 722 582 to make sure you will be collected.

There will be a Men’s Supper in the Barn Centre on Friday 23rd Oct 7.45 for 8pm the speaker being Rev.Paul Mundy, tickets are £5 telephone 01 825 724 378 or email to book you place.

Newick Cimema will be showing the film A ROYAL NIGHT OUT , on Sunday 25th Oct in the Village Hall, there is a licensed bar and refreshments from 7pm the fill will commence at 7.30pm, tickets are £6 on the door you can book in advance by emailing or telephone 01 825 723 392

Newick Green WI next meeting will be on Thursday 22nd the speaker will be Ginny Knox giving a talk on WILD at HEART and the Delights OF FORAGING, Ginny will explain the trials and tribulation and the joys of starting a food business plus how to find and cook wild foods, you will also be able to taste some of her recipes and purchase some Wild Heart Products, visitor are most welcome to join this meeting in the Community Centre at 7.45pm,

Autumn is now with us I do hope you have all enjoyed the beautiful sunshine over the last week, the leaves on the trees are changing colour and falling off, it will soon be time for the Newick Bonfire celebrations on Saturday 31st, more details later.
