Team Leaders Day assesses services to children

At Chestnut Tree House, the Care Team and all the senior nurses regularly meet to review and continually update and improve the services that we offer.

We hold a Team Leaders Day where we provide training and review where we are.

With so many staff on shifts each week and more and more children to care for, we need to all come together to see how we can cope with not only the increasing numbers but also the increasing needs of the children.

As a charity, it is vital we are managing our resources effectively, and that includes staff time.

At recent meetings we looked at new requirements for interviewing, so our human resources officer joined us for a few hours.

We will also be updating our performance review, to ensure we can meet the increasing needs of the children.

Currently, something we’re assessing is feeding supervision.

With many of the children we care for fed via a complicated system, we have to ensure we are meeting the needs of the children using the most up-to-date methods.

The Care Team are a fabulous team and keep Chestnut Tree House going even when things get tricky.

Where would we be without them?

Chestnut Tree House, in Dover Lane, Arundel, cares for over 280 children and young adults from 0-25 years of age with progressive life-limiting conditions.
