LETTER: Union is cause of rail misery

I have read in this week's Mid Sussex Times that the paper is calling on the government to strip GTR of its rail franchise.

Thankfully I rarely have to travel on a regular basis and do not have to endure the misery that regular commuters are faced with.

By all means change the operating company but one thing that will not alter is the presence of the RMT union.

It is the union that has caused such misery by calling on their members to strike.

Not the employer or Government.

It certainly can’t be a coincidence that at the beginning of the dispute, when union demands were not met, sickness among staff suddenly increased leading to service cancellations.

A cynical way of disrupting the travelling public.

How long before the RMT want concessions because they don’t like the new colour schemes of rolling stock or uniforms?
