For the last year Sainsburys the Bannister Way store has had the Kent, Surrey and Sussex Air Ambulance as their local charity.

We are very proud to say that between customers and colleague the store has raised £9348,11 this year, the money has been raised by putting charity pots on all the checkouts, fun raising days including raffles, book sales and store events.

Having the air ambulance as our local charity has been an honour and a joy, through meeting the flying doctors who are dedicated, funny and professional to the volunteers who we feel we can call friends now. We will miss them being our local charity but will continue our fantastic relationship as they will always be welcome to fundraiser in the store.

The kindness of the Sainsburys Haywards Heath customers has always touched many of us and truly hope that will continue with our next local charity (to be revealed soon).

Air Ambulance Corporate & Events Assistant Julie Clare said: “This has been an excellent Local Charity of the Year partnership with the team at Sainsbury’s involving our staff and volunteers.

“Each call-out of the helicopter costs about £2,500 so the fantastic sum raised by Sainsbury’s will help fund four potentially life-saving missions.”
