On Saturday January 23, at Clair Hall in Haywards Heath, over 80 dancers took part in the hospice’s 12-hour Dance-A-Thon.

The event had a varied programme, including Salsa, Bollywood, Ballroom and Swoove, being led by Esther Featherstone and other dance instructors.

As well as individuals, there were lots of teams taking part, including ‘Kim’s Nutcrackers’ – this team raised over £1,000 in sponsorship in memory of a close friend who was cared for by the hospice

As well as thanking all those who took part, the hospice would like to thank all the local businesses for their support – including, Co-operative (Haywards Heath), Tesco (Burgess Hill), Kave Lighting, Izzy’s Party Shop, Flint & Co and Aurora Massage for supporting the Dance-A-Thon with donations and services.

Ellie Gloster, events and community manager at St Peter & St James Hospice, said: “A huge thank you to Esther Featherstone and her team of Swoove instructors for supporting the event, along with the local dance instructors Salsa Julia, Rosaria Gracia, Tracy Brooks and Lesley and Chester, from Steps Dance Club, who donated their time and dancing skills.

“Our dancers were also delighted to be joined by Haywards Heath’s Mayor (Cllr Wickremaratchi) who kindly drew the raffle at the end of the evening.”
