Party, help and advice for older Bentswood residents

Older People’s Day will be held at Christ Church in Bentswood tomorrow from 10.30am where residents can join a party and receive help and advice to make them safe, healthy and connected.

This will include free electric blanket tests and help with hearing and blood pressure tests, fire alarms and movement sensors, Skype and internet shopping.

The day is organised by Bentswood Community Partnership which aims to improve the lives of Bentswood residents, supported by the Mid Sussex Older People’s Council, the West Sussex Fire & Rescue Service, Age UK, West Sussex County Council, Action for Deafness, Mid Sussex Wellbeing and the Southern Co-operative.

BCP Chairman Stephen Hillier said: “Bentswood is a flourishing community with lots going on and it is so important that we support our older residents too.

“So I do hope everyone will come and, with winter around the corner, it’s good to make sure we’re all in good shape - not to mention well connected.”
