One person has been airlifted to hospital with ‘potentially serious injuries’ after a crash closed the A24.

A spokesman for South East Coast Ambulance Service (SECAmb) confirmed ambulance crews attended a crash on the A24 at Capel.

He added: “The incident was reported to us at shortly after 8am and an ambulance also came across the incident.

“Ambulance crews including our HART (Hazardous Area Response Team) attended the scene and were joined at the scene by the air ambulance service.

“One person, with potentially serious injuries, was assessed and treated at the scene before being airlifted to St George’s Hospital.”
