Ardingly student car team set to attend rally

Ardingly Ifield Solar will be attending The Big Lemon London to Brighton Electric Vehicle Rally.

Elena Ionescu, a member of Ardingly Ifield Solar, said: “This amazing event will take place on Sunday, July 18.

Electric vehicle drivers, motorbikers, cyclists and ‘self-build aficionados’ are invited to sign up to the event, which will be a first for the UK’s ever-growing electric vehicle community.

“There will be special appearances from local celebrities, including Fatboy Slim and Charlie Boorman.

“The rally will start on the banks of the River Thames, covering more than 58 miles, passing through beautiful Sussex countryside and finishing on Brighton beach.

“Participants will be able to continue their celebrations after completing the London to Brighton Electric Vehicle Rally at the beach e-village on Madeira Drive, Brighton.

“One of the stops in between London and Brighton is one of our sites, Ifield Community College.

“We will have food, music, and a raffle that gives the chance to drive our basking beastie at an arranged date at the Ardingly Showgrounds.

“MP for Crawley, Henry Smith, will be attending too.

““We are attending to highlight the importance of sustainable travel, and just how fun it is to be part of such an amazing movement.

“Electric is the future.”
