A spokesman for the school said: “By this time of year we have normally run a number of successful fundraising events for Plumpton Primary School.

“These regular events, thanks to our thriving supportive community, help fund invaluable resources and experiences for our children, such as forest school and the widely loved music sessions, those special extras that enhance learning and add real enthusiasm to our children’s school week.

“We are not going to let the challenges of the past year deter us!

“This year more than ever we realise the importance of connecting with nature and having space and opportunity to flourish outdoors.”

More than 40 prizes have been donated by mostly Sussex sponsors, including Brighton & Hove Albion signed memorabillia, camping at Blackberry Wood, artwork from artists Jacqueline Bissett, Grant Dejonge and David Hopley, and luxury food hampers.
