Burgess Hill children receive free activity bags

A town youth group has delivered activity bags for young people in the community.

Jackie Cooper, Burgess Hill Youth chairperson, delivered the bags last week on behalf of Mid Sussex District Council.

The bags have been provided by Mid Sussex District Council and contain activities to encourage physical activity, including a wooden skipping rope and a frisbee.

This was also an opportunity to say hello to the young carers the council and Burgess Hill Youth has been supporting with its door step deliveries.

Burgess Hill Youth normally runs two weekly youth groups a week, as well as running activities at community events, helping to organise the Christmas Hamper Project, and working with groups including Albion in The Community, Burgess Hill Girls and Burgess Hill District Lions Club.

Burgess Hill Town Council supports Burgess Hill Youth to put on events for young carers throughout the year, and is the initial point of contact for Young Carer enquiries.

Burgess Hill Youth lead the events on the day with support from town council staff.
