Coronavirus: the tragic number of deaths across neighbourhoods in Crawley

New data has revealed how many Covid-19 deaths there have been in the Crawley area.

The Office for National Statistics (ONS) said 73 people have died with Covid-19 between March 1 and May 31 (including deaths registered up to June 6).

ONS data broke down the deaths linked to Covid-19 in the area by neighbourhood.

The figures include deaths where coronavirus (Covid-19) was the underlying cause or was mentioned on the death certificate as a contributory factor.

There were 255 deaths in total across the same period – 28 per cent of those were linked to Covid-19 on average.

The deaths linked to Covid-19 broken down by neighbourhood are as follows:

Maidenbower East and Worth - 3

Langley Green and Gatwick Airport - 6

Southgate - 11

Ewhurst and West Green - 9

Maidenbower West and Furnace Green - 9

Manor Royal and Northgate - 9

Three Bridges - 4

Bewbush - 3

Broadfield West - 1

Ifield and Gossops Green - 8

Pound Hill - 3

Tilgate - 5

Broadfield East - 2
