The four-year-old lurcher has on leaps and bounds, thanks to staff and volunteers at Dogs Trust Shoreham, but will need ongoing support.

Having endured lots of change and turbulence in the past, Harley now needs a family that can offer consistency and love.

Continuing his training will help build confidence and gentle owners who live a peaceful lifestyle will enable Harley to settle into his new routine.

Adel Burnett, rehoming centre manager, said: “He’s an endearing lurcher who adores the company of his people pals. It may take him a little while to build up a bond but once he knows you well, he’ll relish your affection and always be eager to join you for snuggles on the sofa.”

Active in his nature, Harley enjoys keeping busy, whether it is exploring on walks in quiet areas, using his brain during training or settling down with a long-lasting chew.

He needs a home in a quiet area, away from the hustle and bustle of busy town centres, and a garden. He will need to be the only pet at home and family members should be aged 14 and over.
