A ‘drunk shoplifter’ ended up stealing alcohol when he went into a Burgess Hill supermarket.

Police say that the man ‘helped himself to drink of alcohol’ in Waitrose on Monday.

Inspector Darren Taylor said the man was arrested for theft and being drunk and disorderly.
