Easter celebrations held by Bolney Horticultural Society
Following the success of an informal street show to replace the annual summer show last year, Easter was celebrated by Bolney Horticultural Society outdoors in the village over Easter weekend.
The sunshine added to the cheerful atmosphere which brought many locals out.
There were tables adorned with displays of Easter gardens, spring flowers and decorated eggs.
Several members also wore Easter hats decorated with home grown seasonal flowers such as acacia, camellia, pieris, daffodils and primroses from their gardens.
A spokesman for the society said: “For many, it was an ideal opportunity to catch up with old friends and meet neighbours after several months of lockdown.
“Some families also had a walk around the village following our trail to explore interesting names, plants and features in the village.
“Copies of this trail will be available for villagers to use at any time; Bolney residents can stay local and discover interesting points which might not have been noticed before.
“Bolney Horticultural Society has successfully continued to keep members as well as the wider community involved with horticultural related activities.
“The children in the village school were encouraged to decorate eggs which were displayed; we often support and involve the younger members of our community.
“We are looking forward to celebrating our 80th anniversary this year and hope to hold many more interesting and enjoyable activities in the future.”
