David Hammond, from Hassocks, and Natalie Porter, from Burgess Hill, are the singing group Nat ‘n’ Dave, performing songs from the 50s and 60s.

The manager of Firgrove Nursing Home invited the charity performers back on Friday, July 17 to the home to cheer up the vulnerable residents and to help take their minds off of Covid-19.

Having sung for the residents indoors at the beginning of this year, Nat n’ Dave performed for them in the back garden whilst the residents listened and sand along to songs from that era that they remember and love, from the safety of their conservatory.

Natalie and David said: “During this pandemic we all would like to do our bit for the vulnerable community and its front line workers in whatever way we can.

“This is our way of helping and it is a real pleasure to bring some brief fun and joy into their lives.”

The duo reached the final of Brighton’s Pier Nine competition in January, and sing in nursing homes across the country for free.

David’s background is rock music, while Natalie’s is classical, and met when they performed together in musical theatre productions, realising their voices went together well.
