Free kids’ events in Burgess Hill this summer


A host of free children’s events will be held in Burgess Hill this summer.

Children’s entertainer Jonathan Cann will bring his Punch & Judy Show to The Martlets Shopping Centre on July 28 and to the Bandstand, Church Walk, on August 11.

Jonathan will be performing his Magic Shows at Market Place Shopping Centre on August 4 and at The Martlets Shopping Centre on September 1. The start time for all the shows will be 11am.

Market Place Shopping Centre will also put on its Once Upon a Wednesday events.

Children can decorate a card teacup with Alice and the Mad Hatter at Alice in Wonderland’s Make and Take event on July 29,

The Hungry Caterpillar Arts and Crafts Community event will take place on August 12 and will see children help create a giant caterpillar out of card that will then be displayed in the shopping centre throughout the summer holidays.

On August 26, children will enjoy an animated storytelling of Inside the Wardrobe. All three of the Once Upon a Wednesday events will run from 11am to 4pm at Market Place Shopping Centre.

Shoppers can get themselves a chance to win a £75 shopping voucher by picking up a Loyalty Reward Card and getting it stamped at each of the four Summer Tuesdays’ events.

Collect all four stamps to be entered into the Prize Draw to win a £25 shopping voucher for the winning child and £50 shopping voucher for their parent/guardian.

The Loyalty Reward Cards can be picked up and returned once completed at Get Crafty, Kids Stuff and the Help Point.
