Handcross club chairman’s act of kindness for members during lockdown

Helen Arnold, of Handcross Rosemary Club, delivered her afternoon teas – which catered for diabetics and gluten free and included her well regarded ginger cake and cheese straws – on Wednesday, May 20, and then repeated her act of kindness on Wednesday, June 17.

Helen relished the opportunity to see each of the members and check on their wellbeing during the long period of isolation, as well as bringing many a smile to the club members.

The club usually meets monthly to promote companionship and wellbeing for the over 55s, lonely and disabled people.

Members usually share an afternoon tea and enjoy each other’s company often also enjoying some entertainment.
