Gatherings for Lorraine Mercer’s big day were arranged at carefully spaced times at safe distances in her garden.

An Olympic torchbearer in 2012, Lorraine was awarded an MBE for her charitable works despite the prognosis after she was born with disabilities caused by thalidomide.

Lorraine, a lifelong Cliff Richard fan, hopes to meet him one day as a fellow torchbearer.
