Older people with money worries during lockdown are being urged to turn to Age UK for help.

Age UK West Sussex, Brighton & Hove - which offers help to people in Horsham, Mid Sussex and Crawley - is urging people with financial concerns to call its helpline for advice.

As well as financial information, Age UK can provide advice on welfare benefits, housing needs, social care and isolation.

Age Uk West Sussex chief executive Helen Rice said: “Many older people are really suffering at the moment, not only dealing with the isolation of lockdown, but also incredibly worried about their finances.

“Some have lost their income and can’t afford basics like food, electricity and their rent. Anyone over 50 can give us a call for personalised advice, we can give practical help and check you are getting the support you’re entitled to.

“I want people to know they don’t have to suffer in silence or face this alone, we’re here for you.”
