A 64-year-old mother from Horsted Keynes has died in a quad bike crash.

Police were called to land near Keeper’s Cottage, Danehill, where a four-wheel-drive farm buggy had overturned, trapping a woman beneath it, at about 8pm on Sunday (July 19), said police.

The Kent, Surrey and Sussex air ambulance attended but sadly, the woman, 60, from Horsted Keynes, died at the scene.

Another passenger in the buggy, a 39-year-old woman from Boscastle, Cornwall, was taken to the Royal Sussex County Hospital, Brighton, for checks to a head injury.

Police confirmed there were no suspicious circumstances. The coroner has been informed.
