A charity golf day has raised nearly £4,000 for Motor Neurone Disease Association.
Twenty teams took to the challenging course at Haywards Heath golf club for the 16th annual charity golf day organized by the Rotary club of Cuckfield and Lindfield.
Peter Stevenson, who has organised the event for 16 years, said: “We were delighted with the day.
“Not only did we raise a lot of money for worthwhile charities but as always it was a lot of fun for everyone.”
This year the proceeds were principally for the Motor Neurone Disease Association as well as for other charities supported by the Rotary club.The highest scoring team was Barb’s Boys with 119 points.
The best ladies team was the Ladies Vice Squad which scored 107 points.
There were other competitions taking place on the day for the longest drive on the 12th, nearest the pin, nearest the pin in two and individual par 3s with eleven points.
Oliver Paterson had the Best Individual Score with 40 points.
The total amount of money raised was £3,900.
The event was sponsored by Jeremy’s Restaurant, Orange Square, Mansell McTaggart, PS Homes, Gould and Company, Excel Financial Solutions and George Niblett.
Thirteen other businesses advertised in the program which also contributed to the final total raised.
A spokesperson for the rotary thanked the golfers who took part and said the support of the businesses, entry fees and the proceeds from a grand raffle all contributed to a ‘magnificent effort’ to raise money for those who are less fortunate.
