Tarana restaurant in Turners Hill wins Peer Nominated award at Mid Sussex Applauds Awards

Jahan Tarana, who runs Tarana’s in Turners Hill, has won the Peer Nominated award at the Mid Sussex Applauds Awards.

The winners were announced in November last year, and the video has been made to replace the usual awards ceremony.

Mid Sussex Applauds seeks to recognise those who go above and beyond in their efforts for our community.

Jahan was described in nominations as a ‘total legend, and a very lovely man’.

Jahan has volunteered during the pandemic to cook and deliver meals, and has given them out for free to nursing homes, hospitals, GP surgeries, schools and more.

Despite Jahan not being able to open his restaurant during 2020 as much as normal, he has still chosen to support the community in this way.
